T-SHIRTS- We'll be contacting participants early next week, December 14-17, for T-shirt sizes so we can get the order in. If you don't register soon you'll still get a t-shirt but we won't be able to guarantee the size.
MOVEMENTS- One of our goals for this event, after finding the fittest people in Utah, is to allow the maximum amount of competitors to participate without scaling. This being said, I'll let everybody know right now that the most difficult movement will be Ring Dips. If you don't have ring dips yet get to work on them, if you don't think you'll be able to do them then don't worry you will be allowed to scale. There is also a good chance you will be asked to do some kind of Oly lift, so make sure you are all at least familiar with the Clean and Jerk, Snatch, OH Squat, and all barbell movements as well.
SPONSORSHIPS- We've added a tab at the top, please contact us if you are interested in sponsoring the event or know someone who may be interested in sponsoring the event.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE- Check in from 8am to 9am. First Heat of first workout starts at 9:30am. First Heat of Second workout starts at 11:30am. First Heat of Final Workout starts at 2:30 pm. Winners announced at 5pm.
AFFILIATE BRAGGING RIGHTS- Any affiliate with 2 or more men and women entered into the event will be in the running for Affiliate bragging rights. Winning affiliate will be determined by highest combined score of top 2 placing men and top 2 placing women.
MASTERS- You must be over 40 or turning 40 in January 2010 to be eligible. You will compete with everybody else in the heats, but when winners are announced you will only be scored against other masters participants.
SCORING- Scoring will be similar to the 2009 CrossFit games. 1 point for first place, 2 for second, and so on. Lowest total score wins. *For Masters, you will only be scored against other masters, so if there are 5 male participants over 40, you can only score a 1,2,3,4 or 5 on any one event.
FOOD- Food vendors are not permitted in the Oval. We are working on getting vendors into the lobby area. Bring your own food for snacks and lunch. There are places to go eat within 10 minutes driving, but most competitors won't have a lot of long breaks so bring food. We will hopefully have something on site, and I believe the Oval offers concessions.
